The Annual Fybonaci Journey
Once a year. In person. On the record.
The journey is the centerpiece of the foundation's year: a small, selected group traveling to one community, education first, documented end to end.
How a journey works
The selection
A small group: donors, builders, creators, people with the resources and the character to be useful. Chosen through a real process, published openly when applications open. Being selected is meant to mean something.
The place
One community at a time. How a community is chosen will be published with the first edition. The short version: carefully, and with the people who live there.
The work
Education first: classrooms, teachers, books, materials. Then the essentials around it, because nobody learns well hungry or cold. The group does the work in person, with the community, on the community's terms.
The record
Film, photography, field notes, named voices, and a full ledger of everything given. Published so that everyone who could not come can still see exactly what their contribution built.
The camera answers to rules.
The journey is documented, and documentation can go wrong in ways charity knows too well. Fybonaci's storytelling standard is public: consent first, names and words belong to their owners, the camera points at the work, and no person is ever reduced to a number or used as a prop.

The First Journey
When applications open, the process will be published on this site first. Until then, the honest status is: in planning, and being planned properly.
